Acworth, GA – Car Accident on I-75 After Gas Pedal Becomes Stuck

Acworth, GA (July 8, 2019) – On Thursday, the Georgia State Patrol responded to the scene of a car accident on I-75 that took place when a gas pedal was stuck on a vehicle.

A Jeep Liberty was being driven by a 50-year-old man who was traveling south in the middle lane of I-75. At that time, a 2012 Kenworth construction truck being driven by a 62-year-old was traveling directly in front of the Jeep.

The Jeep Liberty’s gas pedal then became stuck and the driver was not able to slow. The driver then started to swerve so that they did not strike the truck. The impact was so forceful that the Liberty began to rotate off the road and struck a fence. From there, it vaulted over a culvert.

The driver stated that they were in the accident because their gas pedal became stuck and that he was not able to slow down. The troopers at the scene found that there was, indeed, a mechanical problem with the vehicle.

The driver was injured and taken to the hospital.

We would like to take this time to extend our well wishes to the party injured in this accident.
