Conyers, GA (July 5, 2019) – On Wednesday, July 3, police claim that a DUI accident took place on Highway 20 that sent one person to the hospital with severe injuries.
The Georgia State Patrol said that a driver in a Chevy was traveling east on the highway when a Toyota was traveling west at the same time.
Police say that the Chevy traveled to its left where it went across both of the westbound lanes and off the north shoulder. It then struck a guardrail and traveled back into the westbound lanes.
The two mentioned vehicles collided head-on, causing a huge impact. One driver was airlifted to an Atlanta hospital with serious injuries while another was taken to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
Charges are pending against the DUI driver at this time.
