Girard, GA (July 18, 2019) – The Burke County Sheriff’s Office arrived at the scene of a fatal collision that took place on River Road and took the life of one person.
The Sheriff’s Office reported that a 68-year-old man was leaving work at Plant Vogtle when he suffered from a severe medical episode and lost control of his vehicle. The vehicle left the side of the road and struck several trees before it came to a stop.
The individual was picked up by paramedics and taken to the Burke County Medical Center. He was tragically pronounced deceased while there.
The investigation into the accident continues at this time.
