Summerville, GA (July 6, 2019) – Summerville Police reported that, on Monday, a man and his passenger were injured after being involved in a drowsy driving accident on Highway 100.
The initial report took place on July 1 when a 45-year-old man from Cave Spring was driving along in his Dodge Ram headed northbound on the highway. He suddenly fell asleep at the wheel.
The Dodge left the roadway and continued northbound before striking a culvert. The vehicle then continued onward before it struck a concrete fixture and flipped the truck over. It then struck a fence and came to a stop.
The driver and his passenger, a 22-year-old man, were both injured in the accident. They had been headed to work at the time.
The investigation into the accident continues at this time.
