Fort Oglethorpe, GA (March 27, 2020) – Around 8:40 p.m. on the night of March 24, a hit-and-run pedestrian accident took place on 1800 Cloud Springs Road in Fort Oglethorpe.
The Georgia State Patrol and various other responders have been working on their investigation into the collision, as they claim that the driver who struck the pedestrian fled the scene.
The pedestrian was described as a man in his 50s who was struck by a passing vehicle, which then fled the scene. He tragically passed away at the scene of the accident.
Police confirmed that the driver briefly stopped at the scene but then got back in their vehicle and drove away.
Police continue to investigate the accident.
