Stone Mountain, GA (March 9, 2020) – Around 7:30 a.m. this morning, authorities were dispatched to the scene of a multi-vehicle collision on a major highway.
The accident, according to police, took place in the westbound lanes of US-78 in the area of Mountain Industrial Boulevard.
Stone Mountain Police confirmed that the accident was so severe that it blocked multiple lanes of traffic, leading to extensive delays throughout the morning.
Paramedics were present at the scene and assisted those with injuries. Unfortunately, their conditions are not known at this time.
Police continue their investigation into the circumstances of the accident.
