Woodstock, GA – Serious Pedestrian Accident on Coleman’s Bluff Dr

Woodstock, GA (March 24, 2020) – A postal worker was arrested after lying following a serious pedestrian accident on Coleman’s Bluff Drive.

Police arrived at the scene of the accident where they found a 60-year-old woman lying in the roadway. She received a serious head injury and was hospitalized.

A 38-year-old female postal worker was at the scene and told police that the female pedestrian was standing near her mailbox as she drove by. She said that, when she looked back in her mirror, the pedestrian was lying on her face. She then lied and told police that she never struck the pedestrian with her mail truck.

Police were able to find video surveillance in the area and saw that the mail truck driver did, in fact, strike the pedestrian while she was backing up. She was imprisoned on charges of improper backing, failing to exercise due care, making false statements, and other charges.

The victim is still hospitalized and their condition is not yet known.

Police continue their investigation into the accident.
