Americus, GA (July 13, 2019) – On Monday evening, police confirmed that a 10-year-old child was injured in a bicycle accident at the intersection of Parker Street and Rogers Street.
The accident took place around 5:45 p.m. when the child was riding his bike southbound at a high speed and was not able to stop at the intersection. He was immediately struck by a pickup truck driving through the intersection.
The child was airlifted to the hospital with serious injuries and now remains in the ICU.
At this time, the investigation into the accident is ongoing.
