Augusta, GA (July 8, 2019) – Police claim that, on Saturday, one man was killed in a fatal workplace accident that took place on McClure Road in Augusta.
The man was killed after he was struck by a tree limb that fell down. The Richmond County Coroner’s Office said that, at the time, a local tree company was working to remove a tree in a yard around 9:30 a.m. in the morning.
The man, identified as a 38-year-old, was holding a line for a climber attempting to cut a limb off. Suddenly, the climber fell and the man was struck by a tree limb.
The man struck by the limb was quickly taken to the AU Medical Center and he was pronounced deceased around 3:52 p.m.
The investigation into the fatality continues at this time.
