Canton, GA (July 14, 2019) – On Saturday night, July 13, police were called to the scene of a fatal accident that took place on the Knox Bridge Highway in Canton.
The accident, according to police, took place around 9 p.m. and led to the fatality of two people as well as injuries in three others. The accident was deemed a head-on collision.
According to police, a BMW crossed over the center line and struck another vehicle head-on. The BMW had been traveling around a curve at the time of the accident when it struck a Honda Fit with force and then hit a Honda Accord on the passenger’s side.
The driver of the BMW was identified as a 35-year-old man with a 55-year-old male passenger. They were both killed in the accident.
The driver of the Accord was identified as a 32-year-old man who was seriously injured and hospitalized following the accident. His 3-year-old daughter was in the vehicle with him at the time and was also hospitalized but is expected to be okay.
The driver of the Honda Fit was identified as a 57-year-old who was not injured. His 101-year-old mother was with him and taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
The investigation into the accident is currently ongoing.
