Duluth, GA (July 6, 2019) – In Franklin County, seven people were killed in a fatal accident that took place on Interstate 85 and three others were hospitalized.
The Georgia State Patrol reported that a Ford Excursion had been traveling north on I-85 when it suddenly crossed the median around 1:43 p.m. and struck a Chevy van traveling in the opposite direction. It then ran into another van on the highway. Police also said that the debris flew all over, striking two other vehicles.
Three people in the Excursion died from the impact. All four people inside the Chevy were also killed in the crash. Three in the Excursion were taken to the hospital immediately, one of which was in critical condition.
The identities of the victims have not yet been released.
The investigation into the accident continues at this time.
