Forsyth County, GA – One Killed and One Injured in Head-on Collision

Forsyth County, GA (July 10, 2019) – At around noon on Tuesday, July 9, police were summoned to the scene of a car accident that left one person deceased and another injured in South Forsyth. The two-vehicle collision took place in the vicinity of the 300 block of Francis Road.

According to police, the driver of a Honda Civic, identified as Franklin Hawkins, 58, of Forsyth County, was driving eastbound when he veered into the opposite lane. Hawkins subsequently crashed into a Ford F-150 Raptor, operated by 50-year-old Jeffery Lamkin, of Alpharetta.

Emergency medical crews were immediately called to the scene of the crash where they sadly pronounced Hawkins deceased. Lamkin was reported to have suffered non-life threatening injuries during the collision which is actively under investigation at this time.
