Savannah, GA – Authorities Release Identity of Woman Burned in Car Fire, Suspect Arrested

Savannah, GA (July 10, 2019) – A woman was severely burned in a car fire last week has now been identified as Catherine Glyn-Jones, according to authorities. The incident took place Tuesday, July 2, and police have also reported having arrested a suspect in connection to the incident.

As of Wednesday morning, July 10, Savannah Police have announced that officials apprehended Barry Wright on charges of Aggravated Battery for his involvement in the incident. According to police, Glyn-Jones was stopped at a red light when her vehicle suddenly burst into flames. Emergency medical responders were immediately summoned to the scene.

Glyn-Jones sadly suffered severe burns over 50% of her body during the incident and was transported to Augusta Burn Center. Her condition has not been reported at this time. Police have not detailed Wright’s involvement in the incident as no further information has been provided.
