Thomas County, GA – Several Injured in Multiple Car Crash Involving Semi on Highway 19

Thomas County, GA (July 10, 2019) – Two accidents, the first of which involved a semi tractor-trailer, resulted in several injuries on Highway 19 Tuesday morning, July 9. According to police, the incident occurred just north of Thomasville before Ochlocknee at around 11:00 a.m.

Authorities stated that a tractor-trailer and a silver car occupied by a family of five were involved in the crash when the semi driver made attempt to change lanes. According to witnesses, the tractor-trailer moved into the same lane as the passenger vehicle, forcing the silver car off the roadway where it rolled over in a ditch.

As the family attempted to exit the vehicle, a black Dodge Charger was hit by debris and went off the same side of the roadway. The driver of the Charger subsequently crashed into the overturned car, pinning one of the victims. Derrick Stinson was identified as the semi driver and Timothy Page and Angela Barber, as well as three children,  were in the silver car. Barber was identified as the victim who was pinned. Jamilah Taylor was identified as the operator of the Charger.

Emergency medical crews arrived at the scene where they transported all injured parties to the hospital to be treated for at least minor injuries. Both Stinson and Page face charges for failure to yield during a lane change and for two children not wearing child restraints, respectively.
