Walton County, GA – Pilot Killed in Small Plane Crash near Airport

Walton County, GA (July 10, 2019) – Authorities have confirmed that a man sadly lost his life in a small plane crash on Tuesday afternoon, July 9. The incident took place adjacent to an airport located in North Georgia at an unspecified time.

While neither the details surrounding the events that led to the crash nor the identity of the pilot have been reported, officials with the Federal Aviation Administration stated that it took place near the Monroe-Walton County Airport. A small plane was confirmed to have crashed in the aforementioned are for reasons that are currently unknown.

Emergency responders arrived at the scene and found the crashed plane along with one deceased victim, identified as the male pilot of the aircraft. Police stated that the victim was a local resident and friend of law enforcement. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
