Barnesville, GA – Fatal Train Accident Near GA-7 Takes 1 Life

Barnesville, GA (March 3, 2020) – The Georgia State Patrol was called to the scene of a fatal train accident near the GA-7 area in Barnesville.

The accident took place around 11:20 a.m. when a train and a vehicle responded with each other. The passenger vehicle was being driven by a 79-year-old man from Griffin.

A Chevrolet Silverado started across the tracks. The train conductor told deputies that he was unable to avoid the collision. The train ran into the driver’s side of the vehicle, which instantly killed the victim.

GSP continues their investigation into the collision.
