Cedartown, GA – Fatal Accident on Martha Berry Hwy and US-27

Cedartown, GA (March 12, 2020) – Around 7:20 a.m. yesterday morning, a 59-year-old woman was killed in a fatal accident at a Cedartown intersection.

The collision allegedly took place when the woman was driving along on US-27 when she started to make a left turn onto the Martha Berry Highway.

Police confirmed that a tractor-trailer struck the side of her vehicle, which caused the truck to jackknife across the highway. Her Sonata crossed the median into oncoming traffic when it was struck by a Mack truck.

The woman was allegedly pronounced dead at the scene of the accident by a county coroner. Nobody else was injured.

The investigation into the accident continues.
