Clarkesville, GA (March 30, 2020) – Around 7:45 p.m. last night, March 29, a child was seriously injured in a pedestrian crash at a Clarkesville intersection.
Police confirmed that the accident occurred at the intersection of Ed Carroll Drive and Lockwood Street.
A 6-year-old male child allegedly entered the road in front of a GMC Arcadia. The driver was identified as a 44-year-old woman from Cornelia.
The Georgia State Patrol confirmed that the child was struck by the front passenger side of the vehicle. He was immediately taken to Northeast Georgia Medical Center with injuries.
The driver was not injured. However, they were allegedly charged with DUI.
