East Point, GA – Car Accident on I-85 Near Virginia Ave

East Point, GA (March 10, 2020) – Around 6:30 a.m. this morning, a serious car accident on I-85 took place near the area of Virginia Avenue in Atlanta.

The accident allegedly took place in the southbound lanes of the highway when multiple vehicles collided with one another near exit 73. The right lane of traffic was completely blocked.

Photographs in the area showed numerous emergency responders at the scene including paramedics, fire crews, law enforcement officials, and more. They assisted those with injuries, though the full extent of the injuries is not yet known.

There were extensive delays in the area for a period of time.

No further details have been released but the investigation is ongoing.
