LaFayette, GA (March 6, 2020) – Around 11:30 p.m. last night, March 5, one person was killed in a fatal house fire at the intersection of Jones Street and Fortune Street in LaFayette.
LaFayette Fire and Police Department responded to the scene of the fire where they found that the house involved near the intersection was completely engulfed in flames.
Firefighters discovered that there was a possible male inside the house and made entry into the home. They were able to find the victim and pulled him out to safety. However, he received serious trauma and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The victim was identified as a 23-year-old male.
Police continue their investigation into the fire at this time.
