Pooler, GA – Fatal Collision on I-95 Involving Tractor-Trailer

Pooler, GA (March 5, 2020) – Around 7 a.m. this morning, a fatal collision took place in the southbound lanes of I-95 in Pooler.

Officials confirmed that a 62-year-old man in a passenger vehicle started having vehicle troubles and pulled off the road so that he could take care of the issues.

The Georgia State Patrol confirmed that he was a few feet from the asphalt in a grassy area. He was sitting in his vehicle and waiting for a tow truck when a tractor-trailer driver decided to pull off the road to take a break.

The truck driver claimed he did not see the passenger vehicle and struck it on the driver’s side.

The victim in the passenger vehicle was taken to Memorial Health University Medical Center but, while there, he passed away.

Police have said that charges may be pending. Their investigation into the collision continues.
