Atlanta, GA (July 9, 2019) – Police reported that a Good Samaritan who was helping a stranded driver was struck and killed in a pedestrian accident on I-285.
DeKalb County Police responded to the scene of the crash late last evening, July 8. Authorities have said that a vehicle was stalling in the center westbound lane of the highway when a 36-year-old got out of his vehicle to offer assistance to the driver.
An oncoming vehicle was headed toward them and swerved around the stalled vehicle, striking the pedestrian. Several vehicles then struck the man following the first one.
When paramedics arrived, they tragically pronounced the victim dead at the scene. The involved vehicles stayed at the scene of the accident.
No charges have been filed and the investigation into the accident continues.
