Carrollton, GA (July 11, 2019) – According to police, a pedestrian accident took place at the intersection of Alabama Street and Brumbelow Road in Carrollton that led to injuries.
The accident, according to authorities, took place on Wednesday around 11:30 p.m. The pedestrian was crossing the street at the intersection when the driver of a black Hyundai struck him while making a left turn.
Police confirmed that the driver fled the scene following the crash and did not stop to check on the pedestrian. An officer patrolling the area came across the pedestrian, who had severe injuries.
The pedestrian has since been taken to the ICU at Grady Memorial Hospital and they are currently in a coma. They have several fractures and might require amputation.
The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues at this time.
