Cobb, GA (July 9, 2019) – Early Sunday morning, July 7, police responded to the scene of a fatal crash that took place on I-20 in Cobb and took one life. Now, police have identified the party who lost their life.
The accident took place around 2:15 a.m. on the Interstate. The man involved in the accident was identified as a 29-year-old man of Marietta who was driving a 2013 sedan on the Interstate when he suddenly struck a Corolla driven by a 47-year-old man.
The impact caused by the accident was so forceful that the Corolla went off the right side of the road and rolled over. The 47-year-old man was taken to the Grady Memorial Hospital where he tragically passed away.
The 29-year-old received minor injuries and was hospitalized. Police have since charged with him DUI, first-degree vehicular homicide, and other related charges.
The investigation into the accident is ongoing at this time.
