Covington, GA (July 6, 2019) – On the Fourth of July, a man was killed in a hit-and-run accident that took place on North Lake Drive in Covington. Police are still searching for the driver.
The crash took place on Thursday evening when a man became involved in an argument with a 20-year-old at a home on North Lake Drive. The 20-year-old left the home and started to walk down the street, which is when the other man got into his truck and ran into the 20-year-old man as he was walking home.
Police say that the 20-year-old, who had unspecified special needs, passed away at the scene of the accident.
Now, police continue their search of the man. They know his name and are speaking with those who might have witnessed the accident.
