Valdosta, GA (July 6, 2019) – Around 5:15 a.m. this past Friday, a garbage truck accident took place at the intersection of Force Street and Ashley Street in Valdosta.
The accident, according to police, took place between a Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office cruiser and a City of Valdosta garbage truck.
According to police, there were injuries, but none of them were life-threatening. The Georgia State Patrol was called to the scene of the accident.
The garbage truck allegedly turned in front of the cruiser, which tried to avoid the collision but was not able to. The police cruiser was completely totaled.
The investigation into the accident continues at this time.
