Dalton, GA – Car Accident at Intersection of GA-52 and GA-3

Dalton, GA (July 7, 2019) – On Tuesday, the Georgia State Patrol was called to the scene of a car accident with injuries that took place at the intersection of GA-52 and GA-3.

The accident, according to police, took place at night when a 23-year-old woman was in the westbound lane of GA-52 and attempted to negotiate a curve in the road. A 26-year-old man was attempting to turn. He made his turn, which is when their vehicles collided with one another.

The man making the turn told officers that he did not see the woman until the two made an impact. The woman claimed that she had attempted to slow down so that the two vehicles did not collide but was unable to do so in time.

The woman was the only person who received injuries but they were not life-threatening and she is expected to recover.

The driver of the other vehicle was cited for failing to yield the right-of-way.

At this time, the investigation into the accident is ongoing.
