Athens, GA – Child Pedestrian Accident on Augusta Ave

Athens, GA (March 9, 2020) – Around 12:30 p.m. yesterday, March 8, a 3-year-old child was killed in a pedestrian accident at 100 Augusta Avenue.

Police confirmed that the collision took place when a family member was backing out of a driveway and struck the child. The child was playing in the yard when the accident took place.

Paramedics were called to the scene but, unfortunately, the child was tragically pronounced dead at the scene.

The Georgia State Patrol continues their investigation into the accident.
